Novice Fairbairns 2025

Despite the typical Fairbairn cup weather presenting itself once again, the EBC novices had a great showing at Novice Fairbairns this year, with 4 of our novice boats competing!

NM1 put together a great performance and came home in a strong 7th place. Unfortunately, the rules preventing overtaking before Green Dragon Bridge proved costly for them as they became stuck behind a slower crew, costing them a large amount of time. Nevertheless, they will be back for more next term!

NW1, fresh from a strong performance at Emma Sprints, put in a great row to finish in the mid pack of a big NW1 division. Like all of the other novices, they’ll be raring to go next term!

NM2 put in a similarly strong performance despite the cold and rain, placing 9th out of all NM2s!

Finally, NW2 rowed very well to place 12th in the NW2 category!

A huge thank you must go out to our LBCs for introducing these novices to rowing, as well as the EBC members who have coached their outings. These rowers are the future and therefore this operation means a huge amount to the club!

When they become seniors next term, the rest of the Cam better watch out.
