Pembroke Regatta Round-Up!
EBC saw all 6 crews racing at Pembroke Regatta this weekend! Here's how the day unfolded:
💨 M1 battled through illness and a last-minute sub, going up on a rapid Catz crew before being rowed through under the railway bridge to lose by just a length. A valiant effort against fierce competition!
🌟 W1 endured the rain, snow, and hail, powering through to beat Peterhouse in their first race! With the rest of the division cancelled due to weather, a promising match against St Catherine's was sadly left unraced.
🏆 M2 showcased some of their best rowing yet, leaving clear water behind them to win their first race against Caius! Though they fell to Jesus M2 in the next round, their fighting spirit shone through.
💪 W2 faced Clare in tough conditions and fought hard. Despite an unfortunate disqualification, every race is vital practice, and the crew took valuable lessons forward into bumps.
🍊 M3 had a promising start to term, welcoming new rowers and building momentum. They met a strong Maggie crew in the first round but left with key takeaways and excitement for future races.
🥳 W3 were absolute stars, securing 2nd place in their division and earning those coveted wristbands! After a close win against Churchill and a dominant race against Lucy Cav, they narrowly missed victory against Pembroke W3 in the final – spirits remained high thanks to their fantastic effort (and super sub Amy Dunn ❤️).
A massive well done to every crew and thanks to all those on the bank who braved the weather to provide support!
